Free Home Readiness Assessment
We walk the property, identify fire hardening priorities, exterior vulnerabilities and electrical concerns, and give you a clear direction on what should happen first. Free, owner-led, about sixty minutes, no pressure.
The house, the land, and the power.
The structure
Vents, eaves and soffits, siding and the base of the wall, windows, doors, decks, gutters and roof edges: the places embers and heat exploit first.
The first five feet
Mulch, plants, fences, stored materials and anything combustible against the house, and how the ground meets the wall.
The property
Vegetation through the defensible space zones, slopes, drainage and access for equipment and firefighters.
The electrical system
Panel and service condition and capacity, and whether backup power (generator or battery) makes sense for how you use the property.
What you walk away with
- A ranked list of vulnerabilities, from most to least urgent
- What to fix first, and what can reasonably wait or be phased
- Whether your panel and service can support what you're planning
- Whether a generator, a battery, or neither makes sense for you
- A written estimate for the work you choose to pursue
Common questions
What does the assessment cost?
Nothing. The Home Readiness Assessment is free, with no obligation to hire us.
Do I get something in writing?
Yes. You get a clear list of priorities, what we recommend first, and what can be phased, followed by a written estimate for the work you want to pursue.
Is this the same as a CAL FIRE defensible space inspection?
No. CAL FIRE and local fire agencies perform official inspections. Our assessment is a contractor's walkthrough to help you decide what to fix and in what order.
Can I book an assessment for just electrical or just the property?
Yes. If you only need a panel, generator or battery evaluated, or only want Zone Zero and defensible space reviewed, tell us and we'll focus the visit.
